Lead Teacher
Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our childcare center. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and building strong relationships with children, families, and staff members. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early childhood development, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for working with young children.
Responsibilities:
Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate a variety of learning experiences, including play-based activities, process arts and crafts, music, and outdoor exploration.
Provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves.
Establish positive relationships with children, families, and staff members through open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.
Observe and assess each child's development and progress, and communicate with parents/guardians regularly to share updates and address any concerns.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, ensuring that all materials and equipment are age-appropriate and in good condition.
Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate themes.
Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with continuing education and best practices in early childhood education.
Qualifications:
Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.
Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.
Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.
Creative, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a passion for inspiring young minds and fostering a love of learning.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.
Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
