Lead Teacher

Position Overview: We are seeking a passionate and experienced Lead Teacher to join our childcare center. The Lead Teacher will be responsible for creating and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom environment, and building strong relationships with children, families, and staff members. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of early childhood development, excellent communication skills, and a genuine love for working with young children.

Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging and age-appropriate lesson plans that incorporate a variety of learning experiences, including play-based activities, process arts and crafts, music, and outdoor exploration.

  • Provide a nurturing and supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and encouraged to express themselves.

  • Establish positive relationships with children, families, and staff members through open communication, collaboration, and mutual respect.

  • Observe and assess each child's development and progress, and communicate with parents/guardians regularly to share updates and address any concerns.

  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom environment, ensuring that all materials and equipment are age-appropriate and in good condition.

  • Collaborate with colleagues to plan and coordinate themes.

  • Participate in ongoing professional development opportunities to stay current with continuing education and best practices in early childhood education.

Qualifications:

  • Associate degree in Early Childhood Education or related field preferred.

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience working with young children in a childcare or educational setting.

  • Knowledge of child development theories and best practices in early childhood education.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with children, families, and colleagues.

  • Creative, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a passion for inspiring young minds and fostering a love of learning.

  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive and supportive work environment.

  • Current CPR and First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire).
